ENTRI founded the Society of Physician Entrepreneurs , formerly the ENTRIpreneurs Club, in 2008 with the express purpose of providing education and support to physician entrepreneurs; idea stage through funding. ENTRI provides administrative support to the Club which is led by a Steering Committee composed entirely of physicians. Physicians that are current members of a national medical society are eligible to join the Club. The Club does not charge membership fees. ENTRI will solicit support revenues for SoPE operations from advertisers and sponsors that are interested in making themselves known to physician entrepreneurs or providing general support for physician entrepreneurship. The inaugural meeting of the Club was held at the AAO-HNS Annual Meeting in Chicago on September 23, 2008. Our next meeting is planned for the 2009 AAO-HNS meeting in San Diego. We will be hosting a SoPE Networking event on Monday, Oct 5th, 2009 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm and will be offering a miniseminar on "Dealing with the Medical Device Industry" on Wednesday, Oct 7th.
